Epidemiology of Rheumatoid Arthritis


About 0.5-1% of the population suffers from rheumatoid arthritis which is the most frequent inflammatory rheumatic disease.

Women between 30 and 45 years are mostly affected. There is weak familial predisposition.

Between 5 and 50 per 100,000 people newly developing the condition each year.1
